Tengu...more tengu's pleezzzzee.

Well in Eve we have been quite busy in our new corp, and alliance. We have been actively pvping, mining ops (well....only 2-3), and we have only done one WH. Just one. However, running anomalies is much more lucrative. Last night we made about 99mill in about 3 hours. It could have been more but well we did other things as well.

Yogi and I have gotten into building ships, so far we have produced 4 Drakes. Next I will be building some canes. With those we will get on km's. I think for fleet ops, we will use Maelstroms. With the 8 turret slots, we can pack a nasty wallop at range, and of course get on a zillion km's.

Yogi has finally seen light and will be flying a tengu by sunday or next monday at the earliest. She is going to love what a tengu can do. I take battleship NPC's down super easy. The only one real concern about using them in pvp roams...is that they are going to become the enemies gangs main target every time you engage. Which gets really stressful, when your t3 cruiser is worth 10 times what the enemy has. So I will simply not use them for pvp roams unless I warp in last for that final punch when we have a group of them engaged. OR only go if one of us has a logi...which I am a long way off from training.

Ok thats all for now....FCON kicks anus!

Tengu down.....TENGU DOWN!!!

My stupidity never ceases to amaze me. I had a great run in my first tengu. Ran anoms with ease. So yesterday I a see a t2 cruiser outside of the station in our neck of woods in null sec. He or she engages me. I see a Arcon class carrier undock and launch fighters. My blood gets pumping. You see I was about to just dock up and perhaps switch to my much much cheaper Rupture class cruiser. Instead feeling safe that there was a carrier right next to me......I engaged the t2 cruiser. Boom i notice that 6,7 other ships are warping into the scene. I stop firing and in my panic I try to dock up. To no avail, they bounded that tengu so badly. Lesson to be learned: No one is going to sit around in a t2 cruiser with a huge warp bubble up and not have loads of backup likely from surrounding systems coming to their aid.

So fail on me. I can say one thing about myself, I learn my lessons well. So I went to the Rens solar system, and fitted up a another tengu. This one....will not be blown away. I am going to baby it!

Eve

We have some a real long way from the last time I posted here. We left our dead corp, and joined a pvp corp. It was fun, but some pvpers have an ego the size of a mountain. One guy lost an extremely costly battleship, that was a largely given as a gift. Instead of maybe going to null sec and ratting, or running some nice plexs to make isk, he goes out to PVP in it. Needless to say he lost it. Poof! Next he goes on to buy another battleship of the same type. This time people in our corp were getting tired of his nonsense (he pked a lot of corp members after he lost he “gift”). So he was hot dropped, and lost billions of isk. The grand total I forgot, but I do know I could have fitting a carrier out very nicely, and still had isk to spare.

In that corp we had people who knew what they were about, our CEO, and many others. We also had people who had no clue as to what they were doing, and would heavily rely on others to help them. It was like holding their hand.

We lived in a WH for about 2 weeks made some isk, then the corp fell apart. Our CEO simply was overwhelmed with real life issues, and managing the corp took too much of his time.

We were given a nice gift of POS structures to help cover losses (my losses to be exact, Yogi made a nice profit in that WH), and with those assets I am slowly getting back on my feet.

Currently my fleet includes drakes, typhoons, numerous cruisers, several frigates, and now 2 mining barges. I had to sell my Orca because when we escaped the WH we were too deep in low sec space to get that slow moving vessel out safely.

So now, we are in Null sec. My dream has come true (EVE dream), that is to truly be able to be apart of events that shape EVE. The other night our alliance teamed up with other alliances forming a massive fleet of 600 ships. I saw a number carriers, supercarriers, dreads, and even titans on the field.

Yogi and I in our tiny little drakes were just two tiny blips in that blob.

I am finding that null sec provides some of the best ways to make isk hands down. In about a 30 minute period just ratting, netted me 10million. Actually it was more like 20 minutes. This is where I want to bring my carrier (well my first carrier). I want to pvp and protect our area of space, while having a solid isk making backup. I mean it would suck to pvp in my carrier only to lose like person I mentioned above.

Wow this post has grown quite long. I would say this to people who want to make isk fast. WH raiding.

But if you raid wh's realize that if there are POS's there, they will know that you are there, and they will defend “their” WH. If you are in a 3 man crew it is possible to rake in about 30-50mill isk, per wh. Two people in bc's (drakes are awesome, but T3's really rule!), and another in a destroyer with tackle rigs (with salvaging to at least level 4!). You will clean up big time. Right now we are still settling in to our Null sec area. I am currently ready to fly a Carrier in about a week and a half. If I get the skill books fighters, capital ships, and minmatar carrier (my basic systems skills are all at level 5), I could be ready to fly in about 2 weeks.

However I realize that I need to reasonable, I need another ship that I can rely on for pvp, worm holing, or even mission running. For that I am training for the tengu. I want to move into a WH, with yogi, in an Orca (she is training for golem), and me in my carrier. I want to see if I get into a C3 and milk it dry.

The only challenge is …...getting the carrier out again. But that is for some time in the future since yogi still needs to train her caldari BS to level 5, so in about 2 months or so, when we have enough assets we will see what our options are.

uh oh...

Ok so I am now in a new corp, that is very pvp intensive, and many people had to move some war assets to low security system. That is all fun and dandy. BUT my POS is lost. Due to my stupidity I did not un-anchor it, it was left in the old corp. When it happened I could not get past the shields. Then I realized my 300mill isk mistake. DAMM! I mean pirates, or a rival corp, or alliance did not even blow it away (which would taken time and effort I DID!)

Oh well at least I found my industrial ship safely sitting there, anyone could have hopped in it and took it. I guess it was not worth the trouble...I mean mammoths are only worth like 700k-1mill isk.

Update on corp activities, and as usual I will be vague. We have successfully relocated some key assets into the new system. Yogita and I will relocate mining assets there as well. Nothing too expensive. Can't till our corp / alliance has achieved its goals!

Recruitment channel

Its time.....we need more excitement while waiting about 6-8 weeks for our skills to complete. My carrier, yogita a tengu / or marauder. I think a tengu is better. My goals for this year will be to skill up for a carrier / tengu / and a load of manufacturing skills.

I did not list that in order. In order, first some manufacturing skills (reverse engineering sleep stuff from wormholes), then carrier (plus more drone skills!), then tengu, and lastly more manufacturing skills. I should be at 25mill +sp by then, and hopefully in null sec.

I have the recruitment channel up and I am going to actively look for a corp / alliance deep in null sec. That is were the real money is! I think early next year I will train up more mining skills mining in null is ultra sweet!

Well we have an update, there is a corp that wants to take us on board, and they are already in null sec. I think I will run the POS in its current location while, jumping back and forth.

Hulkageddon......3!!

Ok so here is the low down this is a player driven event. In lineage I have never seen anything like this. Basically all ships related to ore extraction, are being targeted and being blown away. Hulks, Mackinaws, Retrievers, and Covetors for exhumer / mining barge class ships, all haulers seem to be targets as well. Big industrials like Orcas, or maybe even the Rorqual.

Basically Exhumers are tier 2 mining barges. Their extraction yields are quite high, I can pull about 1 million work of highsec ore with a 17k cargo hold. If I use jet can mining I can earn about 10-12mill and hour.....no that is with Yogita, solo it is about half that.

Now Eve wide mining related vessels are being blown away. Even in high security space, so that means the aggressor will get his ship blown up he will do it in the name of this event. Basically miners who do not want to risk losing a 140mill ship (pre-hulkageddon), then end having to a: wait a while for the prices to drop, or b: shell out about 200mill for a new hulk.

I know some people have people protecting them but really, all they get are pirate kill mails, the people they are trying to protect.....will if they are targeted, get blown away.

So Yogita and I we have 2 covetors, 2 hulks, and 1 mack....total value 330 mill. We can cover those loses but really we are not lush with isk. So we have mothballed our mining ships, and our POS has enough fuel to sit out this event with out ice mining.

On a side note I am excited that we might end up in null sec, joining an alliance out there.

Of course the location, and exact details; if we are allowed to join will not be posted here. I will have to be vague at best. Eve is surprisingly hush hush. If I find a nice system with something valuable, it is best to keep it to yourself for as long as possible.

Ok well...signing off.

My new fleet issue 'phoon!

I finally took a big step, and dug into my pockets (about 450mil isk) and bought a fleet issue typhoon. It's tank is truely awesome, and the extra hp, and low slot means I have a lot of room for modifications. I will use this ship for mission running, and the regular typhoon for low sec complexes. Of course the fleet issue would pawn those sites better, but I will not risk a half a billion isk to some random pirate. So until I save up enough isk for a carrier, I will use this current setup.

Sometimes it would nice to use the typhoon for low sec pvp. It is a relatively cheap battleship to use, and oh so nice. I am again thinking about closing down the corp that I am heading. Time will tell. I will post pictures of my new baby soon!!

1.1Billion isk!!!

Well actually 1,136,000,000 to be exact. I know that I can make money but, now I am wondering about ways to increase this. I want to be an industrialist/miner, while being a carrier pilot. I want to train my carrier skill to level 5....I assume that will take some time.

Now, I am at an impasse. I can make a 300mill or so from missioning a week, plus about 30-50mill mining. By mining I mean only several hulk loads of day. Not mining ops every night that fill my orca up a few times.

SO I got isk on my mind!

Carriers are a very expensive career choice because they are well...1.5billion and 3billion each! After fittings, and insurance. So you can see the dilemma. Lose a carrier...BOOM 1.5billion in the hole. That means I need to seriously up my income. I have 4 planets with colonies at the moment. They are not generating isk right now. I need to wait until the market is totally in player hands. I do know of a guy who will build carriers for me. Tonight I will go into low sec....perhaps null sec, this is pretty hard core for me....going into the pirates domain!

Typhoon, and tyrannis

So this was our plan...we would save up about 70million isk to buy planetary command centers, and set up our infrastructures on planets. We have burned through only 4 million each. So our wallets are a bit fatter. Planetary interaction is fun! When we get into ship building, or POS construction...we will have all of the planets of ejahi to help us!!!

I have decided not to move, well we both have decided not to move 30+ jumps. I think all that is needed is that if I will trade with our new friends... we can just load up an industrial class ship, or my orca and make a trade.

Now to make 70 million isk, we ran my level 4's like crazy, while mining. Now...my typhoon is smoking!!!

Look above~!!

Now that both of us are producing stuff on planets....my Orca seems to be quite a good asset.

Ok i gotta go!

Nice time with level 4..

We well we loaded and ship out to a system deeper in anmatar space. I made about 100mill isk with another 40mill in orders. Now total cash assets are at 875mill. Not much for what I want to do. PI is only a few days away, and I am very glad that we trained up a load of skills for it. We hope to take over 2-3 planets and look into producing. I need a more viable way to make isk, for pvp, and to replace carrier losses in the future. There is a guy that I know that has over 15mill sp in drones. He mines, fights, reps all with drones. The time we first met Yogita and I had to run to the station because a gang of pirates showed up. He baited them with another member in his corp, so that he could scout them....then......BOOM! Out came the Archon class carrier. Ah, what a nice day. It was really cool to salvage those ships. Carriers can not operate in high sec. They are limited to low sec. So I need a good isk making strategy. Mining is ok when we combine our efforts. Like we did for my Orca, and Yogita's maelstrom. Even now she is helping me in other ways for buying my first carrier. Now it is time to invest a little money in a probe....my cruiser class prober sucks....

New goals....

I have been doing some reading about capital ships and well there are 2 that have caught my eye. The carrier, and the super carrier. Wow they look awesome, and I am sure that pve a motherships 25 fighters (max skills) will be awesome! The major making me sit down and think, is this...they are pretty expensive, and make tempting targets for gank squads. I would need need a support fleet, or backup. Also carriers are used a support ships, the idea of a pure combat oriented carrier is very unpopular. Too bad. I mean look at how carriers are used today. They project the military might of a nation far from its shores. It is one of the major compenents of America's military strength. In eve...they are big and have really nice looking designs...BUT....they are only repping other ships, and many carriers are lost because, if a tank can not be broken, you break the healer...so 1-3billion isk carrier goes pop!

I want to have 3 or 4 carriers, for pve in low sec, or wormhole space. I want more than one because I expect to lose some to gankers. I remember this this really cool dude in a .2 system, and how he used an Archon class carrier, and wiped out a small gank force of 5-6 battleships. It was cool cause I was able to salvage the wrecks. From what happened in chat, the battle did not last long.

I am well on my way toward minmatar carriers. I am in the 16 days away from drone interfacing level 5, I already have minmatar bs level 5. A very useful skill too! My typhoon is the best mission running ship. Higly durable too!

POS ready!!

Ok so what is a POS? Basically in Eve you can have you very own space station. It can have fitting services, ore processing, reprocessing ancient artifacts that can be found in wormhole space. You can have factories that can used to build ships, or well all of the items in eve can build at a POS. Now a POS can not just be set up and your ready to go...no no. They need to be fueled, and there are limits as to what you can set up at your POS based on the CPU, and power grid of your POS.
A POS can have a number of defences, and electronic warfare modules for defence. So you can see that other corparations can attack and destroy your POS.

Now to set up a POS requires certain skills, and standings. Standings are something that can take a long time to build up. This weekend I was finally about to get my standings to 5.22 with Ammatar mandate. That means in systems with a .5 security status I can set up a POS. Well...actually I can't. The reason why is cause our corp. standings are only 2.22. This number is based on both Yogita's standings and mine averaged together. So basically if she improves her standings...we will go up very very fast in standings.

Ok..whew...some bad news...or perhaps good news....Tyrannis has been delayed until this weekend. So that gives me more time to build up our capital. Collectively we about 800million isk between us. A nice sizable sum..but....really it is quite small as some modules for say a carrier can run 300million isk!! So I want to build an infrastructure with about 1 billion isk. That can earn us a steady income. It would be nice to start making t2 modules, or even get into ship building. We could build our ships, pvp in them....blow em up and then start all over again! A large part of eve is pvp.

ok whew...

Getting back on track

Well there are loads of things happening in Eve. Our main short term goal is to move into wh space.
Perhaps a low level one, class 1 or 2. We both have over 11mill sp. I am almost at 12mill. I am starting to feel it when i run level 4's. Especially since I trained up minmatar bs to level 5! My Phoon shoots cruise missiles almost like assault missiles. I have a LONG way to go when it comes to combat. And even more for pvp combat. I want to improve my salvaging (got it to level 4).

Oh I think the biggest accomplishment for our tiny corp.....we can now finish worlds collide with ease! I have learned how to stop loosing battleships in the last room!

Current training focus is improving my tank, my armor tank actually.

Oh and dead space mining rocks!!!

ORCA READY!!!

Finally I am all skilled up for an Orca. This will help in a HUGE way. I have seen what an Orca do. It is pretty nice. I will be able to shift all of my assets in 1 or 2 jumps. Likely one will be enough if I level up my industrial command ship skill to level 4. Right now I am getting close to mimmatar bs level 5, I am about 17 days away....feels good went it was 32 days...

With my mimmatar bs at level it will make my typhoon even more effective in battle. Well I mean PVE. I will learn up more missile skills max out my cruise missiles and move on to torps....

I have learned that level 4's are good but those epic level 4's are costing us a ship every other time we get them....we can earn 100mill isk.. then boom! Lose a ship bc are about 80mill total at cheapest, while bses are like 140mill isk. To much of a hit for us so I want to concentrate on mining esp with the Orca.

So basically I am all skilled up but can't afford the darn thing....

Level 4 mania!!

We made 40-50mill isk today!! It was so awesome!!! We ran so many level 4's. Now our sp are much higher...I have about 10mill, and Yogita has about 9mill. Which means our dps, and shield tanking abilities, AAAAANNNND armor tanking are through the roof. Usually in the past we would hope one of the higher level or more veteran players where online so that we could run a level 4 with him. Well thanks to him we learned a few pointers....and I mean a few. We learned what he knew from the wonderful internet. We could find all of the details online on what targets not to hit first and what not. Most of the people who ran the missions did it solo. We have a battle cruiser, and a battleship. We are kicking ass....left and right! So for a great saturday of eve level 4 running.....YEAH!

We are industrialist well...miners, so we are at the bottom the industrial pyramid.
So now we are mining.....we still make great isk mining....might be time to expand our little corp...the universe awaits!!

T.O.A

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Now acting CEO of T.O.A

It has been quite exciting actually. We have finally unlocked level 4's. I have found that yes they can earn a nice bit of isk, at our sp levels, we can not finish them fast enough. Worlds Collide was so nerve rackingly exciting. My Typhoon class Battleship and her crew did extremely well! I think special note should be given to the Engineering crew. They got her out of that dead space pocket after we loaded up the trapped civilians. We had a hard time getting up to warp speed. The entire pocket had unleashed all fury on us. We were able to escape with only 30% structural integrity field. One more cruise missle would have finished us!

We are now going back to the basics namely mining for isk, using those funds to outfit our ships, then on to level 4's for PVE fun! I am thinking about building a Null Sec fund. Buy some cruisers, or battlecruisers, go in have some fun bashing rats until either our cargo holds are full or we get ganked. Hopefully we will do some ganking!

Corps.....

Eve is all about your corp! You can not play this game alone. You need a team of people working together. The most powerful ships in the game are known as titans. Basically they are like HUGE stations, with massive damaging doomsday weapons. Whole fleets have been decimated from these weapons.

To skill up to use such a behemoth takes allot of time. Almost a year, while building it can take 3 months...not counting time to gather the components. I have read reports of players who have quit Eve after their titan was destroyed. In Eve most ships can be insured. For example I bought a Tempest class battleship for about 100,000,000 isk. However I was able to insure it for about 130million! Now once I outfit the vessel that can cost about.....70 million more isk. It is a minmatar ship so ammo can cost allot of dough...or isk. BUT if i lose the ship in battle (PVE, or PVP) I can still rest easy.....130mill will be returned to me.

Titans are a different ball game. Those massive vessels cost upwards of 50billion isk to build. And even more to outfit. Someone calculated in real life currency that it cost close to 5-10,000 dollars!!!!

BUT building one is a team effort! So to those to quit cause they lost this ship....shame on them. If you have a corp behind you....you can build another.

Ok more news: I have 2 pvp kills.....BUT 7 pvp deaths. Well....ships that went bye bye. Not my pod. I have been podded only once. I lost 2 hulks to Goonswarm's idiotic campaign to rid the Eve universe of macro miners. Basically these "bot" mining vessels (usually piloting a tier 2 mining barge the Hulk) mine for hours with out stop.

Hulks are awesome mining machines!!! You can mine about 20million isk an hour in high security space. Even more in low security or wormhole space!

BUT my hulk was targeted due to a massive which hunt for macro miners, who sell their ore then sell the isk for real life cash.

I hate goonswarm...a huge corp.....no it is a HUGE MEGA HUGE CORP. That takes whatever it wants. That is eve......you have to be strong to survive! The weak will perish!

I have lost about 500million isk in ships. But I will not bitch about it. I will make 1billion isk.
